Port receives award for outstanding achievement

first_imgCamas — The Port of Camas-Washougal said Friday it has received the 2012 Port of the Year Award from the Washington State Public Ports Association.Each year, the association honors one of the 76 public port districts across the state for outstanding success in the port industry. The Port of Camas-Washougal was selected from a roster of nominees for the strategic planning, acquisition and development milestones it has achieved.Port Executive Director David Ripp “and his team have put in a tremendous effort and produced outstanding results to make the port a well-respected entity that is delivering on its mission to bring jobs to our community,” the port’s commission president, Mark Lampton, said in a news release.The Port of Camas-Washougal, founded in 1935, encompasses more than 40,000 residents in the cities of Camas and Washougal. The port operates a general aviation airport, industrial park and a 350-slip pleasure boat marina.last_img read more
