ENDURANCE MAN SEAN GETS HERO’S WELCOME AT HIS SON’S SCHOOL

first_imgPrincipal Máire Ni Ghairbhí with Sean and Ruairi ENDURANCE racer Sean McFadden got a hero’s reception when he visited his son’s school today.The Letterkenny man finished second in Ireland’s first ever 24-hour endurance event – The Race – which took place over a 260-km course in Donegal at the weekend. Sean completed the 24-hour race – running, cycling and kayaking – in just over 15 hours and 22 minutes.Donegal man Gerard Callaghan was sixth, Gavin Harris was in eighth and Brendan McBride was 14th.Today son Ruairi was the proudest boy in the county when dad Sean called for a special reception at Gaelscoil Adhamnhain.Sean gave a wonderful speech, crediting athletes Gary Crossan and Ciaran O’Donnell with inspiring him to success.
